Ensuring Sustainable Development with the Approach of the Greying Society

Hello delegates! I’m Evan Tsai, currently a senior in Taichung First Senior High School. This is my 8th MUN conference and my second time chairing. I’m so grateful to serve as your chair in the ECOSOC at this year’s DYNAMUN. My commitment is to give you a happy, rewarding, and knowledge-gaining experience. Therefore, don’t hesitate to ask me any and all questions any time. If I know the answers, I’ll pour them all out and tell you; if I don’t, we’ll figure them out together. I wish we can all have a great time during the conference, and I can’t wait to see you!

Greeting all delegates! My name is Jimmy Tsou, and I’m currently a high school student studying at Taipei Fuhsing Private School. I have started to participate in MUN three years ago, by now, this is my 10th conference. It is my honor and pleasure to serve as the co-chair of DYNAMUN ECOSOC this year. The ECOSOC focuses on ensuring sustainable development of our society. I hope all of you can stay active and absorb various experience and perspectives from one another in this year’s DYNAMUN conference. Also, I have faith and believe that all delegates will be willing to step out of your comfort zone and embrace what DYNAMUN is going to bring you this year. Have fun!

Committee intro :

Delegates, welcome to the ECOSOC. We are the chairs of DYNAMUN 2017, Evan Tsai from Taichung First Senior High School and Jimmy Tsou from Taipei Fuhsing Private School. It is our honour to serve as your chairs, and we can’t wait to see you soon! During the conference, we will lead you through the sessions and do our best to help you solve all the problems and questions you have. We wish this year’s DYNAMUN can be a great experience for you all, and we are looking forward to seeing you come out with creative, innovative, and yet professional draft resolutions.

The ECOSOC is responsible for coordinating economic, social, and related issues in order to achieve sustainable development of the world. Nowadays, because of theadvanced medical technology and mature health-consciousness, people enjoy much longer life expectancy than we could ever imagine in the past. Therefore, new issues brought by the aging population have become the hardest and most urgent challenges for our 21st century society. In this committee, we will be addressing the value of the elderly and discussing on solutions which can better the living condition of senior citizens as well as bridge the gap between the old and the young whilst simultaneously maintaining a steady economy, a peaceful society, and sustainable development.

Sincerely, Evan Tsai and Jimmy Tsou
