Distinguished delegates, welcome to DYNAMUN 2017. I’m Wayne Hung, a student in National Taipei University of Technology. It's my pleasure to serve you as the co-chair of UNEP this year. In addition to MUN experiences, I love engaging myself into various different fields, such as filmmaking and photography. I play the flute in Taipei Tech Symphony Orchestra as well. Listening to film scores, riding bike, and playing badminton are also my favourite leisure activities. In August, I am going to be one of the teaching assistants at Harvard Taiwan Leadership Conference, hoping to meet you there! I look forward to seeing fruitful debates and your outstanding performance. Finally, I’m convinced that we are going to have a wonderful experience in DYNAMUN 2017!

Combating the Threats of Chemical Waste

Greetings MUNers!!! My name is Sharon Su, currently in grade 11 from Taichung Municipal Hui Wen High School. It is my utmost pleasure to serve as your co chair in Dynamun 2017 UNEP. This time will be my 11th conference and second time co chairing as well. I’ve been participating in MUN for about two years, to me, MUN is a place to get deep connection with the world and gain profound understanding of every region which is deeper than knowlwdge in textbooks, meanwhile, it’s a place to meet many inspiring friends. All I expect you to do is try your best to express yourselve, no matter how much you command your English ability, which really matters is that whether you have the courage to share your ideas to others. So don’t be afraid to speak out and you’ll find yourselves improve more than you can imagine gradually. Bring a happy heart will help you feel less nervous and certainly, if you got any question please feel really free to ask and we’re all willing to help out. Hope you can enjoy yourselves in Dynamun 2017. Just can’t wait to see you guys and let’s go rock the committee together

Greetings, welcome to UNEP. We are your chair and co chairs in DYNAMUN 2017, Rebecca Lin from National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, Wayne Hung from National Taipei University of Technology and Sharon Su from Taichung Municipal Hui Wen High School. It's really our pleasure to serve as your dais this time, we hope you can enjoy yourselves during the meeting, and don't be shy to seek for assistance if you need. The United Nations Environmental Programme(UNEP), one of the agencies under the United Nations, is mainly in charge of coordinating with UN on environmental plans and aiding developing countries to formulate environmental protection politics and measures. It was established in United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in June 1972 ,and the headquarter is located in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

The geographical scope that the United Nations Environmental Programme controls can roughly separate into three parts, which are the atmospheric layer, marine, and terrestrial ecosystems. It takes considerably vital responsibility in formulating international environmental regulations, and by means of promoting the environmental condition and further strives to draw up efficient and practical politics. Not only does UNEP work with governments to promote the whole environment, but it collaborates with non-governmental organizations as well. Without a doubt, it also provides financial aid proactively in plans related to environmental development.
